AK's recording seems to just be a single track type thing for slapping down a riff, no multitracking or anything. It's only 50 and is much better for setting up.
Jam up vs ampkit software#
I've pissed about with it a bit and found it quite easy to use. If we've misread your request and you just want some software to use your desktop computer as a guitar amp, check out Ampkit (mac only i think). The recording in AT (unless there's some additional recording package for AK that I haven't seen yet) is more elaborate than AK's if you've bought the lil recording kit. The whole FX thing is one thing that really frustrates me about Amplitube. sounds rubbish), or you have to add it as an effect afterwards if you're recording. so if you're using amp gain and want a delay with your lead sound, it either goes in front of the amp (i.e. If you want to move an effect, as far as I've been able to figure out you have to set up another of the same type in another FX spot, copy your settings over, and then go change the other one to whatever. Amplitube is a lot more limited in this area.
Jam up vs ampkit mod#
being able to easily re-order your FX as well as having an FX loop section for time based and mod FX 'n' whatnot. AmpKit also has the advantage of having more flexible FX chaining. AmpKit I think does a better job of high gain sounds, but for clean and mid-gainy stuff I think they're about on par. Buy, Sell, List and Find Everything Music. Never had any feedback problems or anything using it with AmpKit. Used to use them both with an iRig, but I lost it a couple of weeks back. In other news, I spent the evening playing with the Moog Filtatron, using my guitar through the ampkit link. I have to make sure those aren't pushed in all the way in order for it to work properly. I'll probably buy the pay version and find a better amp model.Ģnd UPDATE: I found that some of my cords use a slightly longer plug that doesn't always work properly.
I still think the particular amp "lead" sound is far too noisy. Tried a different cord, followed some suggestions from the Peavey forum, and can now get a feedback free sound. UPDATE: seems the feedback issue was partly due to an old but otherwise perfectly useable guitar cord. if you do have that hardware, it may be a power issue on the amplink.
if you don't have that hardware, stick to amplitube.
the powered buffer on the amplink is what keeps the the ampkit feedback down. Do you have an irig or an amplink? I get crazy feedback with any of the ampkit stuff with my irig, so I just stick to amplitube.
